Abandoned vehicles, often parked dangerously, can encourage further anti social behaviour which can have a negative impact on the ‘liveability’ of local residents. Untaxed vehicles are often the property of individuals who not only chose to evade paying tax but also fail to comply with parking and traffic restrictions.

The Civica Civil Enforcement system fully complies with the legal requirements for managing both abandoned and untaxed vehicles. Interfacing where relevant with the DVLA, Police and Insurance Organisations (HPI).

The system integrates with the Civica Civil Enforcement removals module at the point where the vehicle is removed from the roadside for storage in a vehicle pound. Where necessary a real-time interface will be sent to London TRACE system so that visibility of the vehicle being removed is available to the Police. The removals module will be responsible for identiying and communcating with the vehice owner. It raises all relevant charges in respect of removing, storing and releasing a vehicle from the pound prior to its return to owner. It also manages the workflow of vehicle disposals through sale or destruction.
